Today is National Health through Fitness Day, so to celebrate – here are a few tips for getting active!

1. Lift hand weights during tv commercials or run in place.
2. Walk around the mall for 30 minutes.

We Support “Let’s Move!”

Friday, February 12th, 2010

logo_letsmoveOn Tuesday, First Lady Michelle Obama announced her new initiative Let’s Move! to eliminate childhood obesity in one generation. Here at Learning ZoneXpress, we are ready to get moving too!

Let’s Move! is going to take families out of their isolation and give them the nationwide support that they need in a wide range of industries to get their kids on track to live healthier lives, eat right, to get more exercise, and to be ready to face the challenges of the future,” said Mrs. Obama in her video on the Let’s Move! web site.

The four key components of Let’s Move! are:

1. Make Healthier Choices
2. Healthier Food in Schools
3. Access to Healthy, Affordable Food
4. Increase Physical Activity

One of our mail goals at LZE is to create innovative and relevant educational tools that promote nutrition and activity, so it’s very exciting for us to see an initiative like this come from the White House! We’ll be posting more information about Let’s Move on our blog as the initiative unfolds.  You can learn more about Let’s Move! at www.letsmove.gov.
