Keeping FACS Alive: MyPlate through 4H in Tennessee

promoting-facs-guideThis summer Learning ZoneXpress has been asking teachers how they are keeping FACS Alive in their classrooms and schools. We were thrilled with the response and are happy to share the stories. We would love to hear from you! Help us spread the awareness of FCS in the classroom today and share your story with us. Long live “Home Ec”!

I am a 4-H agent in Jackson, TN and love teaching " Home Ec" issues...teaching Choose my plate, Money Management skills, teen living issues, line and design - arts and crafts, clothing, interior design topics...being a smart consumer in all aspects of life and teaching the students how to choose a career path and setting goals. Teaching leadership and citizenship skills is all just a small part of the wonderful Family and Consumer Sciences topics that we love to teach and it is so meaningful.
