promoting-facs-guideThis summer Learning ZoneXpress has been asking teachers how they are keeping FACS Alive in their classrooms and schools. We were thrilled with the response and are happy to share the stories. We would love to hear from you! Help us spread the awareness of FCS in the classroom today and share your story with us. Long live “Home Ec”!

Today’s story…

Family and Consumer Science opportunities are alive and well at Cloquet Middle School in Cloquet, MN. Seventh and eighth graders have a trimester class each year and discover life skills that promote good nutrition, healthy lifestyles, problem solving, team work, clothing care and sweatshirt construction. Students are encouraged to take these skill beyond the classroom and apply them to their personal and family lives. The future is waiting for them and FCS classes help to prepare them for their independence.
