    A couple weeks ago we announced the winner of the Soar with School Breakfast Recipe Challenge and this week we decided to try out the recipe for ourselves. The winning recipe, Craisy Pumpkin Breakfast Bars was submitted by LiveWell@School Food Initiative in Colorado. We gathered all the ingredients and made them for breakfast. The team here at Learning ZoneXpress loved them!! They were all gone and all that was left was crumbs on a plate.     Today's school breakfast recipe is from Palm Springs Unified District. 3.5 lbs Frozen Liquid Egg 2 lbs Shredded Cheddar Cheese 2lbs Cottage Cheese 2 Tsp Baking Powder 8oz Butter buds (liquid) 16oz Diced Green Chili’s 2 6’ corn Tortilla’s 2 oz salsa Combine eggs, cheeses, baking powder, butter buds, and chili’s. Spray a 400 hotel pan with pan coating and pour mixture into pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and eggs are set. Once cooked, scoop ½ cup of egg mixture and divide between 2 corn torilla’s and top with 2 oz salsa...

    We're having a ball sharing your stories about National School Breakfast Week. Today's featured celebration is Brownsville Texas ISD at Veterans High School. Take a look! I had a table during open house and passed out samples of the breakfast we serve to our students to the parents. Answered any questions parents had of our breakfast and gave them the print outs of the menus we serve.
