We are so excited to be attending the National 4-H Youth Summit Healthy Living Conference this week. It’s always a great opportunity to meet some fantastic kids and of course we also enjoy talking to their adult leaders.
It's four days of hands-on learning, exciting sessions led by passionate healthy living experts, interactive workshops, supplemental curriculum and tools, tour healthy living advocacy agencies in Washington, DC, hotel accommodations at National 4-H Youth Conference Center, meals and a guided night time tour of the monuments and memorials in Washington, DC. All meals are included beginning with lunch on Thursday, January 9, 2014 and ending with breakfast on Sunday, January 12, 2014.
We are very impressed with the lineup of healthy living workshops. Topics include bully prevention, focused driving, smart health choices (especially anti-tobacco!), how to plan a health summit and more,
Our most anticipated session is…
STEPS to a Healthy Teen: Segments To Emphasize Physical activity and nutrition Steps.
Designed to target youth ages 14 to 19 with 10 activities to help youth develop skills and knowledge in nutrition and physical education. Using identified learner outcomes and success indicators, facilitators can easily lead fun, interactive learning experiences. Participants experience a variety of learning methods and tools such as games, case scenarios, computer software programs, cooking demonstrations, and fitness challenges.
We’re hoping to get a chance to talk to others who are especially interested in nutrition and physical activity for kids!
