Back on the Preaching Horse!

If you read my blogs on occasion you know that I am an active member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. In recent years, our organization has had difficulty maintaining membership, which is difficult for me to understand because our organization has so much to offer!
I hope that those of you that teach "Family and Consumer Sciences" will consider being a part of the organization. I know that the organization has been working hard to promote Family and Consumer Sciences in a positive light to keep the programs that we teach alive!
The web page alone has helpful hints for you to promote your program when you may be in jeopardy of losing it due to budget cuts. There are also tools for finding careers in Family and Consumer Sciences, and tools to promote the national programs in the organization such as "Taking it to the Streets". (This years topic: Obesity prevention and how obesity affects all aspects of our life.)
If you have let your membership go, or even if you haven’t been a member since way back in your college years, please consider joining and being a part of a great organization.
In the spirit of AAFCS,
