Meet Smart School Lunch Blogger, Kris Diller!
"My degree is in Dietetics & Food Nutrition and Research so I naturally started out working in hospitals, my highlight was working for UCLA medical research center in LA. I soon realized though my interests was childhood nutrition, so when I moved back to MN, I began to focus my career in school food service. It's been over 25 years now and I still feel this is where I belong.
Working in the school meals program has allowed me to not only focus on nutritious meals for kids (menu planning is my passion) but has also given me the opportunity to start a full blown organics recycling program in our district, work with local orchards, farmers and bee keepers to bring the farm 2 school program to life, start a school garden and most recently partnering with a local chef who is willing to share his award winning "vegetarian black bean burger" recipe with us! How cool is that?"

The Lunch Lady has a few volunteers that help by sharing tips and trends that they find going through their days. They aren't necessarily the voice of experience - but their passion is helping to bring healthy lunches to students and to help build smart choices in the cafeteria.
