MyPlate for Expecting Moms Handouts
Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant have special nutritional needs. Based on the USDA’s MyPlate, the recommendations on the MyPlate for Expecting Moms Handouts help pregnant women eat for a healthy baby. The plan shows different amounts of food for different trimesters, to meet the changing nutritional needs of mothers.
The backside of the tablet discusses healthy weight gain, food safety concerns for pregnant and breastfeeding women, and special nutritional needs during pregnancy. MyPlate is the new USDA food symbol replacing the food guide pyramid.

“I am extremely satisfied with the MyPlate for Expecting Moms Handouts. The graphics are eye-catching, and I love that it’s split up by trimester. The content is simple and not overwhelming. I like that you touch on folic acid, iron, and fish, because I discuss those often with my pregnant moms. It’s just so nice to have all of this great information conveniently in one place. It’s easy to follow for my clients and many have told me they hang it on their refrigerator as a helpful reminder.“
